Halo ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Halo mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

Halo does not require account creation. Any personal information you provide is stored locally on your device:

1.2 Usage Data

- Focus zone locations (stored locally and optionally synced)

1.3 Location Data
With your permission, we collect location data to enable Focus Zones functionality. Location data is used to:
- Detect when you enter or exit defined Focus Zones
- Trigger app blocking based on your zone settings
You can disable location services at any time through your device settings.
1.4 Screen Time Data (iOS)
If you grant Screen Time permission, we access:
- Aggregate daily screen time usage
- App category usage data
- Device activity information for app blocking functionality
This data is processed locally using Apple's Screen Time API and Family Controls framework. Screen Time data is never transmitted to our servers and remains on your device. You can revoke this permission at any time through your device's Screen Time settings.
1.5 Device Information
We may automatically collect certain information about your device, including:
- Device model and operating system version
- Unique device identifiers (if applicable)
- App version and installation information
- Crash reports and performance data

- Provide and maintain the App's functionality
- Enable Focus Zone geofencing features
- Track your digital wellness progress and streaks
- Send optional reminder notifications

- Local device storage for authentication and profile data
- Local device storage for zones, preferences, and screen time data

- Regular security assessments and updates

- Expo: Application framework and push notifications (Privacy Policy)
These third-party services may collect, use, and share your information in accordance with their own privacy policies and Apple's standard iOS data collection practices. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data by uninstalling the app
- Revoke location and Screen Time permissions
- Opt-out of notifications
- Withdraw consent for data processing
7. Data Retention
All your data is stored locally on your device. To remove your data:
- Uninstall the app to delete all local data
- Reset focus zones through the app settings
- Revoke permissions in your device settings
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are between the ages of 13 and 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you represent that you have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the App and to provide us with your information.
